We’re excited to introduce our newest feature on the Making app: CLASSES!

The Making app will begin to offer beta tests of live classes beginning July 2021. Beta classes will be open to our First Stitch Society members to register and attend! That means YOU get to test our new classes before they are made available to the wider public. We are honored to welcome your input and feedback to help us build a learning platform made just for you!

Where will Making classes take place?

Beta classes will be live-streamed and available through the Making app website platform. Check your Making app account for frequent updates on upcoming classes and featured instructors.

How can I attend a class on the Making app?

Class registration is available under the Classes section in your Making app account. Spaces are limited and vary from class to class. Register as soon as possible to ensure your spot. Once enrolled, you will receive a confirmation email with class details and a reminder to join our class 30 minutes before start time. If you register more than a week in advance, you will receive an email reminder 7 days prior to class.

What is the average class length?

Individual classes will range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and some courses may be multi-part series. Please see individual class descriptions for more information.

Which classes are offered?

Our Class Schedule is frequently updated with a range of classes for every maker—from absolute beginners to more advanced crafters and fiber artists. Content, structure, format, and number of attendees will vary per class. See the individual class description for more information.

Which languages and timezones will be offered?

Beta classes will be offered in English, with the option to turn on closed captioned subtitles. Class times will vary and will be published in Eastern Standard Time (EST). View our schedule and class pages for information on start times corresponding with your timezone.

How much does it cost to attend a class?

Prices will vary per class content and requirements. Average price for beta classes will be $30-$60 and up, as well as a range of lower-cost options. Interested instructors can email hq@themakingapp.com for more pricing information.

Do I need any materials to attend?

You will need access to a computer or smartphone to join our live class link. View individual class pages for a list of materials or kits you will need before the start of your class. Some classes may offer digital downloads of class materials on the Making app website prior to the session. Make sure to refer to the checklist on the class page and confirmation email for materials needed.

Will classes be recorded?

Yes. Classes will be archived for attendees in your Making app account. You may choose to turn your camera off, though some classes may be more participation-based or leave time for a Q&A.
